Equine Assisted Learning
About The Yard is based in Edington, near Westbury, Wiltshire. We support learners aged 5-25 years.
About The Yard provides a person-centred, equine assisted learning for children and young people with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SpLD and more complex needs. We also support learners with their emotional and mental health.

Our purpose is to increase the wellbeing and confidence of learners through horses and the natural environment. About The Yard's bespoke programmes support re-engagement with education and the development of life skills in preparation for adulthood.

Our trauma-informed approach within a safe, natural environment enables children and young people to build trusting relationships and form positive, peer attachments.
Our learners have the opportunity to explore their identity and develop their resilience, coping skills and emotional literacy.

Our Vision is to provide unconditional, positive regard so that every learner feels well-held and supported; empowering them them to develop a 'sense of agency' and achieve future aspirations.
